Civil Society Orientation 2025

Hybrid Orientation Session

The objective of the Hybrid Orientation Session is to introduce participants to the structure of the Commission for Social Development (CSocD), its Priority Theme that will shape the debate of its 63rd session, and the critical role of Civil Society in the commission’s proceedings and in preparation for the World Social Summit. The NGO CSocD hopes to create an informal space for participants to network, build connections, and foster collaborative relationships ahead of the official CSocD meetings. This event aims to encourage dialogue, mutual support, and partnership-building among civil society actors.

Civil Society Orientation 2025 Engagement

On the morning of February 9, 2025, the NGO CSocD hosted our 2025 Civil Society Orientation. The Orientation conducted in a hybrid manner held a panel discussion that introduced participants to the structure of the Commission for Social Development (CSocD), its 63rd session priority theme around social inclusion, cohesion and solidarity, and the discussed the critical role of Civil Society in the commission’s proceedings and in preparation for the Second World Summit For Social Development.

We also had the pleasure of hosting breakout sessions where participants discussed the most pressing challenges for civil society in promoting social inclusion and cohesion, and how civil society can effectively influence policy in preparation for the upcoming Second World Summit For Social Development.

Please find an outcome document of the feedback we received from participants below. Thank you to all those participants that joined us in person despite the snowy weather in New York City and thank you all the online participants for joining us.
